Ed Hoge passed away July 20, 2012. Ed was a long time member of the Birchwood Sportsman's Club and an instructor for Birchwood Hunter's Education/Safety. Ed will be greatly missed by all of us.
Meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the second Thursday of each month.

HISTORY
Club participation protects our outdoor heritage
Aug. 24, 2013: S.C.O.P.E. (Sawyer County Outdoor Projects and Education) Family Fun Day at Summit Lake Game Farm. Hunter Education/Safety students and adults had a chance to learn and experience many of the outdoor activities available to the area. The Birchwood Sportsman's Club is a S.C.O.P.E. sponsor.
October 15, 2013: The Birchwood Sportsman's Club Fall Dinner-Gun Raffle was held at Tagalong. Sixty guests had the opportunity to win from the thirty gun selection. This is a great benefit for the club and a great time for everyone that attends. Hope to see you there next time.
April 13, 2013: Hunter's Education/Safety class graduated. The class enjoyed a range day shooting .22 rifles and shotguns. Demonstrations were presented on muzzleloader and high powered rifles. Lunch was furnished by the Birchwood Sportsman's Club.
June 7, 2013: A George Mattis Memorial Scholarship was awarded to two Birchwood High School students. Rhianna Miles and Auston Cherney both received a $500.00 scholarship award. These two $500.00 scholarship awards are for continued education.
MARCH 11, 2014: The Birchwood Sportsman's Club had their 26th annual Spring Dinner-Gun Raffle. The dinner was held at Tagalong. One hundred guest attended and had an opportunity to win from the 50 gun selection. There was good food, lots of prizes and a great time.
MAY 3, 2014: The Birchwood Hunter Safety/Education class held graduation and range day on May 3. There were 29 students in the class ranging in age from 11 to 71 years. Range day included .22 rifle shooting, clay pigeon shooting, demonstration on high power rifles, demonstration on muzzle loaders, and basic compass usage. After the graduation a lunch of hotdogs, beans, chips and pop was served. Food was supplied by the Birchwood Sportsman's Club. T-A-B-K
June 6, 2014: A George Mattis Memorial Scholarship was awarded to two Birchwood High School students. Jacob Schmitz and Taylor Hartung both received a $500.00 scholarship award. These two $500.00 scholarship awards are for continued education.

April 18, 2015: Seventeen students graduated from the Birchwood Safety/Education class. Range day consisted of .22 rifle shooting, clay pigeon shooting, a demo on tree stand safety and a demo on high power rifles.
March 8, 2016: The Birchwood Sportsman's Club Spring Dinner-Gun Raffle was held at Tagalong. The Birchwood Sportsman's Club thanks all those in attendance.
April 2, 2016: Sixteen students graduated from the Birchwood Safety/Education class. Range day consisted of .22 rifle shooting, clay pigeon shooting, a demo on high power rifles.

March 18, 2017, the Birchwood Hunter Education and Safety Class had their graduation and range day. The fifteen students participated in target shooting with .22 cal rifles using the different shooting positions. They shot trap, with one on one instructions using a 20 gauge shotgun. They had a a basic class in compass usage and map reading
